Raiffeisenbank Is a Partner of the Usadba.Jazz Festival

Raiffeisenbank is acting as a partner for the biggest open-air jazz project in Russia, Usadba.Jazz, which is to take place on 6 and 7 June 2009 at the Arkhangelskoe country estate in Moscow.

Usadba.Jazz, which has already become a traditional event at the beginning of the summer, will treat its audience this year to the performances of more than 30 Russian and foreign groups.

«As part of Raiffeisen's cultural sponsorship policy, we support events that are innovative in a Russian cultural context, that unite representatives of Russian culture and that of foreign countries, and that are popular with the public, but that nevertheless are in true need of material assistance. The Russian public loves jazz, although we do not have very many good jazz festivals. But Usadba.Jazz is one of those. That is why we are especially pleased to act as its partner. I am sure that the festival will be a spectacular and unforgettable event of summer 2009 for everyone,» noted Pavel Gurin, Chairman of the Board of ZAO Raiffeisenbank.

There will be several staging areas operating at the same at the festival. On the Parterre Stage, groups with completely different styles of music will be playing, from jazz rock to world music. On the Aristocrat Stage, a more chamber-type area, musicians will play traditional and avant-garde jazz, while on the Caprice Stage, popular favorites swing, rock-n-roll, and boogie-woogie will be played. The festival's stages will be laid out naturally in various corners of the estate. The Aristocrat Stage will be in the Court of Honor; the Parterre Stage will be on the large field, and the Caprice Stage will be in the Yusupov Colonnade. In additionally, a special Livejournal area will be organised on one of the comfortable lawns between the park paths.

This year, America's famous Branford Marsalis Quartet will perform, as well as Moscow crowd favourites Nino Katamadze and Insight, the legendary rock avant-guard group Auktsiyon, funk guru Nils Landgren and Funk Unit, virtuoso violinist Alexey Aygi and the 4’33" ensemble, and many others.

The festival will take place in the late-seventeenth-century Arkhangelskoe country estate, which belonged to the dynasty of Yusupov princes. These days, the estate and museum is a unique ensemble of architecture and parks.
